If the preacher is unable to complete the Friday sermon due to illness or something similar, what is obligatory for the worshippers in such a case?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : If the preacher is unable to complete the Friday sermon, whether due to a sudden illness that struck him or something similar, what is the ruling for the worshippers in such a case?

The Shaykh : In such a case, if the preacher has delivered what is sufficient in his sermon, then the sermon is considered complete. If it was the first sermon, one person should stand up and deliver the second sermon, and then they should pray. If it was the second sermon, they should pray because the preacher had previously delivered two sermons. If he had not delivered what is sufficient of the first sermon, then one of the attendees should stand up and resume the sermon with them, delivering two sermons, and then pray with them.

The questioner : Is it necessary to complete the sermon?

The Shaykh : Yes, because the two sermons are a condition for the validity of the Friday prayer.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
