Ruling on transporting non-mahrams, accompanied by a son who is six years old

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 20191 )
Q: I work as a teacher in a school located about fifteen kilometers from the village where I live. I take my son with me, who is six years old and studies in the first grade of primary school. At the end of the workday, I leave for my home and take with me my cousin’s daughter and my son’s maternal aunt, who works as a teacher in the same village where I work. The reason I take her from the school is that there is no guard at the school, and my extreme fear for her safety from assault by people of low moral character. Since the distance is short, and I am, praise be to Allah, steadfast in my religion and do not fear fitnah (trial) by the grace of Allah, but rather I have extreme fear of it, I hope you will kindly answer: Should I continue to transport her with me in the car? Knowing that I transport her in the company of my son, who is her nephew, or should I leave her despite the other dangers? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.
A: It is not permissible for you to do so; because of the fear of fitnah (trial); because you are not a mahram (a relative one may not marry) to the woman mentioned, and your son, who is pre-pubescent, does not establish mahram status
for transporting his maternal aunt with him. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
