Q: The hadith:
It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to travel a distance of a day and a night except with a mahram.لا يحل لامرأة تؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر أن تسافر مسيرة يوم وليلة إلا مع ذي محرم
Sahih Ibn Hibban 10:1041
In this hadith, some people say: We are now in cars. If a woman travels, for example, from Riyadh to al-Kharj , or a distance that cars cover in less than a day and a night, but which takes camels a day and a night or more. They now consider the timing for cars and what is similar to them. We ask you to inform them and convince them to understand the hadith.

A: The authentic hadiths that have come regarding this topic include some that are restricted to three days, some that are restricted to a day and a night, and some that
are restricted to something else, and some that are unrestricted. The correct view in reconciling them is that the restriction has no legal implication. Therefore, what is considered in the Shari'ah regarding the prohibition of her traveling without a husband or a mahram is travel in general, whether she covers its distance in a long time or a short time, and whether it is on foot, by car, by plane, on camels, or the like. Accordingly, it is forbidden for a woman to travel without a husband or a mahram in anything that is called travel. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
