The first question of Fatwa No. ( 4802 )
Q1: Allah the Exalted said:[An-Nur 24:30-31]
In this noble verse, we do not find the maternal uncle or the paternal uncle mentioned, although they are mahrams. Does she sin if she reveals her adornment to them?
A1: A person does not sin by looking at his sister's daughter or his brother's daughter, nor by seeing their adornment, because they are among his mahrams. This is based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:[An-Nisa 4:23] up to His saying: [An-Nisa 4:23]. Furthermore, the permission for a sister's daughter to reveal her adornment to her paternal uncle, and for a brother's daughter to reveal her adornment to her maternal uncle, is understood from the permission for a paternal aunt to reveal her adornment to her brother's sons, and for a maternal aunt to reveal her adornment to her sister's sons. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
Q1: Allah the Exalted said:
(30) Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do. (31) And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.

A1: A person does not sin by looking at his sister's daughter or his brother's daughter, nor by seeing their adornment, because they are among his mahrams. This is based on the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Prohibited to you [for marriage] are your mothers, your daughters
