Traveling with mahrams abroad with the removal of the hijab
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of Fatwa No. ( 7880 )
Q5: One of them asked me: Is it permissible for a man to allow his wife, his mother, or his sisters to uncover their faces when they travel outside the Kingdom? Knowing that they wear clothes that cover the rest of their bodies, with only their faces and hands visible, and knowing that if they covered their faces, they would become the focus of people's attention when entering and exiting. And is it permissible for a man to take his family outside the Kingdom, i.e., to Arab countries, for recreation
and to see beautiful places without going to bad, corrupt places?
A5: First: It is forbidden for a woman to uncover her face and her hands in the presence of non-mahram men, whether in the Kingdom or outside it. Second: It is not permissible for a Muslim to take his women abroad for recreation in lands where trials and temptations to evil are abundant; because of the great harms and trials involved, and the Kingdom and its tourist spots, with safety in religion, are sufficient without the need for abroad. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
