Tying an amulet to the bride's hand

The third and sixth questions of Fatwa No. ( 18743 )
Q3: On the occasion of weddings, the people among us perform the following actions: A- When seeing off the bride, her brother holds the Qur'an over her head, and they say that it is not a religious innovation because it is a religious act, but we see that the Qur'an is a book of worship, so we think that this act is a religious innovation? B- On the day of the wedding, an amulet is tied to the groom's hand and called: (The Guarantor Imam), and they write on it: "In the safety of Allah," or other such phrases. Is this act a religious innovation?
A3: This act performed with the bride has no basis in the Shari'ah. Tying an amulet to the groom's hand, if it contains a supplication to other than Allah, is major shirk (associating partners with Allah). If it is from the Qur'an or from permissible supplications, it is forbidden (haram); due to the prohibition of hanging amulets and wearing rings or threads to lift or ward off calamity. It is a means of shirk, and in fact, it is minor shirk; based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
