The third question of Fatwa No. ( 20229 )
Q3: Is there a specific limit for the woman's mahr? What is meant by "the least of them in mahr" in the noble hadith?
A3: There is no specific limit for the woman's mahr, so whatever is permissible to own is permissible to make as a mahr for the woman, whether little or much. As for the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), in which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Mishkat al-Masabih 3097 It was narrated by Ahmad, and its meaning is: urging the facilitation of the mahr. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
