Q: I have a wife and a sister, and they have a lot of hair, and they suffer from the hair on their heads, as it reaches down to their waists, and they experience fatigue and harm from it. My question is: Is it permissible for them to shorten some of it, or shave part of their heads, or is this forbidden? I hope you will issue a ruling after reviewing my question. May Allah preserve you.
A: If the matter is as described, there is nothing wrong with them shortening some of the hair on their heads to remove the harm from them, but it is not permissible for them to shave it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
