Writing the Name of Allah on gold jewelry

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q3: We have hearts (pendants) on which the Name of Allah is written, and Arabs and foreigners of every nationality buy them. We might tell the Arabs that it is forbidden to bring them into the toilet. Please inform us of the ruling on selling them.
A3: It is not permissible to sell jewelry on which the Name of Allah is written, unless it is removed from it. A similar question was previously sent to the Committee, and it answered with Fatwa No. (2077), the text of which is as follows: We are attaching to your Excellency, along with our letter, a gold ornament on which the Name of Allah (Allah) is written. This ornament is used by our Muslim women solely as an ornament and adornment. For a period, our brothers in the Commission for Promoting Virtue and Prohibiting Vice informed us that using this ornament is forbidden, because the Name of Allah is written on it. We inform you that this ornament is not used by anyone but Muslims for the sake of adornment and display, and in imitation of the women of the Christians and the Jews, since the Christians wear jewelry on which the cross is depicted
and images of idols, and the Jews wear jewelry on which the Star of David is depicted. We hope that your Excellency will look into this matter. And it answered as follows: Given that this ornament has the Name of Allah written on it for the purpose of Muslim women hanging it on their chests, just as the Christians hang jewelry on which the cross is depicted, and the women of the Jews hang jewelry on which the Star of David is depicted, and given that what contains the name of Allah may be hung for the purpose of relying on it to ward off harm or bring about benefit, or it may be hung for other reasons, and its hanging may lead to its being disrespected, such as sleeping on it, or entering with it places where it is disliked to enter with something containing the speech of Allah or on which the name of Allah is written; the Committee sees that it is not permissible to use this ornament on which the Name of Allah is written; in order to avoid imitating the Christians and the Jews whom Muslims have been forbidden to imitate, to block the means to harm, to preserve the name of Allah from being disrespected, and due to the general prohibition against wearing amulets.
