Currency exchange in full

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 14294 )
Q: Some of the customers who deal with us at the grocery store sometimes come to us wanting us to exchange, for example, 100 riyals for them, but I only have, for example, 70 riyals. So he says: Give me that, and I will give you the rest another time. I tell him: This is not permissible. He says to me: Leave the sin to me. I have asked some scholars in our village, and they said: Exchange is not permissible unless it is in full. I ask you, Your Eminence, to clarify this for our customers and for us more than my question, and may Allah reward you with the best reward. .
A : It is a condition for exchanging currencies with one another that the exchange takes place in the session of the contract, and it is not permissible to receive some of it and defer the rest. It is established that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
If these classes differ, then sell as you wish if payment is made hand to hand.فإذا اختلفت هذه الأجناس فبيعوا كيف شئتم؛ إذا كان يدًا بيد
