The second question of Fatwa No. ( 2288 )
Q2: A man endowed a house for the imam of the mosque. Is it permissible for the imam to rent it out if he does not wish to live in it and take the rent, or not?
A2: It is permissible for the imam of the mosque to rent out the house endowed for the imam and take the rent for himself, and there is no blame in that as long as he is serving as the imam. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
