Allocating a portion of the mosque to build a washroom for the mosque

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 794 )
Q: Regarding what was mentioned about their mosque located in Hilla al-Shu'bah , there is no plot of land adjacent to it suitable for a restroom, and the mosque does not have a restroom, and its people are in dire need of one due to the large number of visitors. They wish to allocate a small portion of one of its eastern corners to make a restroom that opens onto the street, and they ask about the permissibility of this?
A: If the matter is as mentioned, that there is no plot of land around the mosque suitable for building a restroom, and the placement of the mosque is
in dire need of a restroom due to the large number of visitors and the need for ablution for prayer, and considering that allocating a small portion of one of the eastern corners of the mosque as a washroom is considered in the interest of the mosque and its people, then the Committee sees no harm in the permissibility of this, provided that the door of the washroom is from the street, and that no benefit is derived from it for the mosque. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
