Endowing what is found abandoned on the road after repairing it
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of the fatwa number ( 20444 )
Q2: I found a water cooler next to the mosque that was out of order. I repaired it and placed it next to my house, near the mosque, and said: If Allah wills, this is a continuous charity on behalf of its original owner, my father, my mother, and myself, with each person receiving a quarter. Please inform me whether this is permissible or not?
A2: If this water cooler belongs to the mosque, or if its owner intended it to be for the mosque, then you are obligated to return it to the mosque, and you will receive reward for repairing it and taking care of it. However, if it was left on the road and no longer needed, there is no blame on you for the action you described. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
