The Wage for Teaching

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 3859 )
Q2: What is the ruling on taking a wage for teaching in schools
and universities, and what is the ruling on a Muslim teaching the Christians in schools and universities? It is known that the schools in our country include both Muslims and disbelievers.

A2: First: It is permissible for one who studies in schools and universities to take a wage for teaching students religious sciences and the sciences whose learning is prescribed or permissible; such as mathematics, engineering, calligraphy, and various crafts like carpentry, blacksmithing, weaving, and the like. Second: It is permissible for a Muslim to teach in schools that include Muslims and Christians the sciences that are prescribed or permissible, as mentioned above. It is forbidden for a Muslim to teach a disbeliever, absolutely, the sciences by which disbelievers assist against Muslims; such as military industries, training in shooting, and all war activities and what aids them.
