A fasting person eating and drinking while forgetful

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question of the fatwa numbered ( 5156 )
Q5: If a person breaks his fast while forgetful in Ramadan, does he have to make it up or not? He has to make it up; based on the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever breaks his fast while forgetful..." and his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Allah has forgiven my nation for mistakes and forgetfulness, and what they are forced to do.رفع عن أمتي الخطأ والنسيان وما استكرهوا عليه
Sunan Ibn Majah 2045Sahih (Darussalam)
?

A5: If a person breaks his fast while forgetful during the day of Ramadan while he is fasting, there is no sin on him, and he must complete his fast for that day, and he does not have to make it up, according to the correct of the scholars' opinions. This is the position of al-Shafi'i and Ahmad ; based on what al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
If anyone forgets that he is fasting and eats or drinks he should complete his fast, for it is only Allah Who has fed him and given him drink.من نسي وهو صائم فأكل أو شرب فليتم صومه فإنما أطعمه الله وسقاه
Sahih Muslim 1155
, and in another wording:
If a fasting person eats while forgetful or drinks while forgetful, it is only provision that Allah has directed to him, and he does not have to make it up.إذا أكل الصائم ناسيًا أو شرب ناسيًا فإنما هو رزق ساقه الله إليه، ولا قضاء عليه
Sunan ad-Daraqutni 11:85
, narrated by al-Daraqutni , who said: Its chain is authentic.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
