Abstaining from eating and drinking for the traveler upon arriving at his destination
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 1954 )
Q2: A traveler who breaks his fast while traveling: when he arrives at his place of residence, must he abstain from eating and drinking, or is there no blame on him if he eats? What is the evidence?
A2: Breaking the fast while traveling is a dispensation that Allah has made as a concession for His servants. When the cause of the dispensation is removed, the dispensation is removed with it. Therefore, if a person arrives in his home from his journey during the day, it is obligatory for him to abstain from eating and drinking; because he falls under the general meaning of the statement of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Baqarah 2:185] And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
