A son performing Hajj with his father's money
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 3572 )
Q1: I have a son who is about twenty years old, and I have a car, but I do not know how to drive it; he is the one who drives. I wanted to perform Hajj in my car, on the basis that the son would fulfill his obligatory duty, and the son is a student at school. The son heard that one who has not fulfilled his obligatory duty is not permitted to fulfill it with his father's money, unless he works until he finds the cost of his Hajj. I am well off by the grace of Allah. Please advise us, may Allah reward you.
A1: If the son performs his obligatory Hajj with his father's money, his Hajj is valid. It is better for him to hasten to perform Hajj with his father and help him drive the car, because this is part of being dutiful to his father. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
