The ruling on a child performing Hajj before his parents, and performing Hajj on behalf of one of them who has lost his mind

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible to perform Hajj before one's parents? And if one of the parents is suffering from a mental illness, is it permissible to perform Hajj on their behalf?
Please inform us, may Allah reward you.

Answer:
There is no harm in a person performing Hajj before his father, and there is nothing wrong with performing it before his mother or his father; because it may be facilitated for him to perform Hajj while it is not facilitated for them, so there is no harm in that, and we are not aware of any disagreement among the scholars on this matter.
And if the father is insane, or has lost his mind without being insane, then there is nothing wrong with his son performing Hajj on his behalf as an act of filial piety toward him, whether the parent is a father or a mother; because the Hajj that is not valid if performed by an insane person himself, the Hajj of the insane or the mentally impaired is not valid if he performs it himself, but if someone else performs it on his behalf, there is nothing wrong with that, and he does not have the obligatory Hajj upon him, if he reaches puberty while insane, he has no Hajj obligation upon him, but if his son, or his brother, or someone else performs it on his behalf, there is nothing wrong with that, and he will receive the reward for it, yes.
