The Obligation of Hajj, Even in the Company of Innovators

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 8308 )
Q: We inform you that many of our Muslim brothers, the people of the Sunnah, live on the coast of Persia and wish to perform the obligatory Hajj. However, they are unable to travel with the people of Iran because they are the Shi'ah , out of concern for the problems that may arise with them on the road. Furthermore, the governments of the neighboring Arab countries do not allow them to travel through their borders. Is it permissible for them to send their Hajj expenses to relatives in another country to perform Hajj on their behalf? Please issue a ruling, may Allah reward you, with a full explanation in the answer, and may Allah reward you with good.
A: It is obligatory for them to perform Hajj, even with the Shi'ah , if they are able to perform Hajj. They must also be cautious of the doubts of the Shi'ah and their invalid school of thought. If they are able to advise them and call them to adopt the school of the people of the Sunnah , it is obligatory for them to do so; because of the saying of Allah, the Exalted:
Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is bestادْعُ إِلَى سَبِيلِ رَبِّكَ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ وَجَادِلْهُمْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ
[An-Nahl 16:125]
, and other verses indicating the obligation of calling to Allah, the Exalted, and enjoining good and forbidding evil. May Allah improve the condition of everyone.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
