One who drank thinking the night was still there while fasting voluntarily

Fatwa number ( 4198 )
Q: Today, Tuesday, is the fourth day for me and I am fasting the six days of Shawwal, I woke up feeling unwell and looked at the clock, and the time was 4:15 in the morning, and the Fajr adhan is at 4:35, so I smoked a cigarette and drank water, and I went to the mosque and found a person sleeping, so I woke him up to light the mosque, in preparation for the Fajr prayer. The man informed me that they had already performed the Fajr prayer at its time, i.e., 4:55. I looked at my watch and found it was 5:30, not 4:30 as it had appeared to me. I continued my fast, and here I am fasting. Please give us a ruling, may Allah forgive you and me.
A: If the situation is as you described, your fast for that day is not valid in the Shari'ah; because it is defective due to your drinking in it after Fajr, albeit by mistake, along with negligence in not verifying the time. You do not have to fast a day in its place; because fasting the days
six days of Shawwal is a recommended practice (sunnah) and not obligatory, and Shawwal has passed, so it is not possible to make up what was missed. We advise you to repent to Allah from smoking, because smoking is forbidden. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
