Clearing one's conscience by returning the money to its owner
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 12228 )
Q3: I have a sum of 150 riyals belonging to a person, and I have not returned it to him for four years. He is unaware of its status, and if he were to learn of it and I gave it to him, he would not take it, for he is a person of great generosity. However, I fear Allah if I do not return it. If I do return it, he has a foul tongue, and I fear that. I ask for guidance.
A3: You must return the amount to its owner in a way that he does not know it is from you, and your conscience will not be cleared except by doing so.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
