Visiting those whose earnings are from what is forbidden
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 11100 )
Q1: My maternal uncles (i.e., my mother’s family) earn their livelihood from what is forbidden (narcotics). They come to visit us and we honor them, and my mother goes to them and brings them some things, such as fruit, sweets, and the like. What is the view of Islam, in your opinion, regarding visiting them, eating their food, riding in their cars, and dealing with them?
A1: If all of their wealth is from what is forbidden, then it is not permissible to eat from it. As for what your mother does in going to them and bringing them some gifts, there is nothing wrong with it, but she should continue to advise them. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
