Q2: The name listed in my identity card is: Sultan Duwayhi Nafi' al-Otaibi, whereas my real name is Sultan Nafi' al-Duwayhi al-Otaibi. What should I do, and am I sinful?
A2: If the error in the identity card consists of listing the father as a grandfather and the grandfather as a father, there is no blame on you; because of the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Ahzab 33:5] , and it is obligatory for you, now that you have known the truth, to correct the name in the identity card; because of the verse you mentioned, and for the sake of accurately determining inheritance.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.

Call them by [the names of] their fathers; it is more just in the sight of Allah. But if you do not know their fathers - then they are [still] your brothers in religion and those entrusted to you. And there is no blame upon you for that in which you have erred but [only for] what your hearts intended. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.
ادْعُوهُمْ لآبَائِهِمْ هُوَ أَقْسَطُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَعْلَمُوا آبَاءَهُمْ فَإِخْوَانُكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ وَمَوَالِيكُمْ وَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ فِيمَا أَخْطَأْتُمْ بِهِ وَلَكِنْ مَا تَعَمَّدَتْ قُلُوبُكُمْ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَحِيمًاAnd success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.
