Tracing lineage to the grandfather

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 10584 )
Q: I was named 'Abd al-Din, after my grandfather, and I am nineteen years old. I have found some people objecting to this name, and I myself am also doubtful about it, but I have not found a comprehensive solution for informing my father and grandfather. Is it permissible for a person to be named 'Abd al-Din? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.

A: It is not permissible to be named 'Abd al-Din, and you must strive to change this name, either to 'Abd al-Rahman, or 'Abd Allah, or any other of the prescribed names. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
