It is not permissible for a father to register a farm for one of his sons and leave the others out

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 16575 )
Q1: Is it permissible for a father to register a farm for one of his children and leave the other children out? My father registered a farm for me and left my sister and a younger brother. Should I take responsibility for these children, or should I leave them?
A1: It is obligatory for the father to be just among his children in gifts according to the Islamic law of inheritance, and it is not permissible for him to favor some of them over others; due to the prohibition of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) of that. It is narrated from al-Nu'man ibn Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him):
His father brought him to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and said, "I have given this son of mine a slave, who was belonging to me." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) asked, "Have you given all your children the like of him?" He replied, "No." Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) then said, "Take him back then."
Bulugh al-Maram 7:183
Agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. Therefore, it is obligatory for your father to equalize the gift he gave to some of his children by giving each of his children the same as he gave to the one mentioned, or by taking the gift back from him. If your father has died, then divide the estate between you and the remaining heirs according to the Islamic ruling. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
