Borrowing from the funds of an endowment
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of the fatwa numbered ( 7124 )
Q1: I have a piece of agricultural land that my father endowed, and I manage it. I pay from my own money the person who farms it, and if it falls into disrepair, I repair it from my own money. However, one day I bought some items and took a loan from the endowment funds because I was in need at that time, and I have returned the money and added to it from my own funds. Is there any sin on me for that? Please inform me, may Allah reward you with good.
A1: If the situation is as you described, regarding your returning what you took and adding to it with the intention of doing good, then there is no sin on you. However, it would have been more cautious to borrow from
someone else. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
