Prostration is a pillar of the prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 12424 )
Q: An imam led the people in the Maghrib prayer, performed the bowing, prostrated the first prostration, and stood up before performing the second prostration in the first unit. After completing the prayer and before the closing salam, he performed the prostration for forgetfulness. .. Your Eminence, Shaykh: Is his prayer valid as described, or please inform us of what is obligatory for him to complete his prayer? May Allah reward you with good for Islam and the Muslims?
A: The second prostration is a pillar of the prayer, and a pillar must be performed; it is not rectified by the prostration for forgetfulness. Since he did not perform it and a long interval had passed, it is obligatory for you in this case to repeat the entire prayer; because your prayer is invalid due to leaving the second prostration of the first unit. However, if the imam remembered or was reminded after the salam but before a long interval had passed, he is required to perform a complete unit in place of the unit in which he left the second prostration, and he must perform the prostration for forgetfulness. It is better for the prostration to be after the salam in this case. If he remembered or was reminded before the salam, he performs a complete unit in place of the unit in which he left the prostration, then he recites the tashahhud and performs the prostration for forgetfulness. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
