Fatwa number ( 12874 )
Q: If a person places a sum of money with me, and his request for this money is after a year of giving it to me, and from my side I disposed of a part of it, for example, I have one thousand riyals, and during this year, when it decreases or I have a pressing need, I take, for example, one hundred riyals in the middle of the month, and when the end of the month comes, I repay it from my salary so that it returns to what it was, one thousand riyals. Is there anything upon me for this? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good and benefit through you.
A: It is not permissible to take anything from a trust, and you must seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him for what has passed. If you took something, it is obligatory for you to guarantee it. However, if its owner gave you permission, it is permissible to take what he permitted you to take, and you repay him what you took.
