Books and tapes that are distributed and do not bear the inscription “waqf for Allah the Exalted”: Is it permissible to sell them?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 19292 )
Q3: There are some books and tapes sent by some brothers and charitable organizations that are not designated as waqf, meaning: it is not written on the cover: (waqf for Allah the Exalted), or “to be given as a gift and not sold,” and the price of the books is written on them. Is it permissible to sell them when one no longer needs them? And is it permissible to sell them in order to buy other books and tapes?
A3: Books and tapes distributed for free by donors and charitable organizations are considered waqf, so it is not permissible to sell them, nor to trade in them. Whoever no longer needs them should give them to someone who needs them.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
