The third question of Fatwa No. ( 2266 )
Q3: If the fasting of Ramadan was observed in Sudan and we fasted on Saturday, and you traveled to one of the neighboring countries on Sunday and found that its people had fasted on Sunday, and the people of Sudan had broken their fast after 29 days, while the second country where I am did not break their fast after 29 days, what is the ruling in this matter? Knowing that I completed 29 days and completed 30 days in the neighboring country, and the month was 29 days.
A3: Your ruling at the end of the month is the ruling of the country to which you traveled, so it is not permissible for you to break your fast; rather, it is obligatory for you to complete the fasting with them, because you have entered into the general address directed to them. However, if the one who moved to another country at the end of the month had not fasted except twenty-eight days, then he must make up another day after the festival until he completes twenty-nine; because the month does not decrease below twenty-nine, just as it does not increase beyond thirty.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.
