Hiring someone to recite the Qur'an over a grave

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 1540 )
Q: What is the ruling on hiring someone to recite the Qur'an over the grave of a deceased person or for their soul?
A: It is not permissible to hire someone to recite the Qur'an over the grave of a deceased person or for their soul and dedicate the reward to the deceased; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not do it, nor did any of the Salaf, nor did any of the leaders of the religion command it, nor did any of them grant a dispensation for it, as far as we know. And hiring for the recitation itself is not permissible without any disagreement. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
