Q5: What obligates the Muslim to perform the full ritual bath, and what is the method of the bath? Is it obligatory not to let the water used for the ablution touch the original water? And if it does touch it, is it valid to complete the bath with it?
A5: Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions... After that: What obligates the full ritual bath for the Muslim is the emission of semen in sleep, and the insertion of the glans of the penis into the private part, even if no semen is emitted, and the emission of semen while awake with pleasure, even without intercourse, and the menstruation and post-natal bleeding of a woman. It is obligatory for her to perform the full ritual bath when the blood stops. And if a splash of the used water falls into the water from which one is bathing, it is valid to complete the bath with it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
