The twelfth question of the fatwa number ( 10896 )
Q12: If fluid is emitted from a woman without intercourse or wet dreams, is the full ritual bath (ghusl) obligatory? Does a woman share the same classification of the fluid emitted from her as a man does, such as semen, pre-seminal fluid, and a thick fluid passed after urination? Or is the full ritual bath (ghusl) obligatory for her fluid whenever it is emitted in any state?
A12: Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions... And to proceed: If semen is emitted from a woman with pleasure, the full ritual bath (ghusl) is obligatory for her, even if
its emission from her is without intercourse or wet dreams. If pre-seminal fluid is emitted from her, it is obligatory for her to wash her private parts. If a thick fluid passed after urination is emitted from her, its ruling is the ruling of urine, and it is obligatory for her to wash it. Thus, her fluid is divided into the same divisions as the man's fluid. It is obligatory for her to perform the ablution for prayer (wudu') if she intends to do what depends on ritual purity, such as the ritual prayer and the like. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
