Using Detergents in the Ghusl for Janabah
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number (11029)
Q1: Is janabah washed with soap... and why?
A1: Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions... And after: It is obligatory to perform ghusl for janabah with water, and it is not obligatory to use detergents such as soap or the like in it. This is what the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) indicates. If one uses soap or similar detergents, there is no harm. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
