Q1: If a person is in a state of major ritual impurity on Friday and he performs the full ritual bath for major ritual impurity, does he still have to perform the full ritual bath for Friday ? And if we perform the bath, do we intend one intention for both baths, or an intention for each bath? And do we separate the two baths, meaning: do we dry our limbs after the first bath, then stand up and perform the second bath, or what?
A1 : The full ritual bath for major ritual impurity suffices in place of the full ritual bath for Friday; because the purpose of the Friday bath is to clean oneself and remove unpleasant odors from the body, and this is achieved by the bath for major ritual impurity. However, it is prescribed that one intends the Friday bath within the bath for major ritual impurity so that he receives the reward for it.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
