The prayer of one who is unconscious due to anesthesia

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The eighth question of Fatwa No. ( 4091 )
Q8: One who is unconscious—naturally—does not make up a prayer whose time has passed. Is one who is artificially unconscious for a surgical operation or similar also not required to make up the prayers whose time has passed, or is he required to do so?
A8: One who is unconscious due to anesthesia, for example, for a surgical operation or similar, has the same ruling as one who is unconscious due to an illness in his body. It does not drop from either of them the obligation to make up the prayer if they wake up, just as with a sleeper, whether they wake up within its time or after its time has passed.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
