Wudu with stolen water
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of fatwa number (6522)
Q 1: What is the ruling on performing wudu with stolen water, and likewise praying in a stolen garment, and the difference between that and performing Hajj with haram money?
A 1: Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions... And after: Usurpation is forbidden by the consensus of the Muslims; because it is injustice, and injustice is darkness on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever usurps water and performs wudu with it for prayer, or a garment and prays in it, or money and performs Hajj with it—each of his wudu, prayer, and Hajj is valid according to the most correct of the scholars' opinions, and he must repent to Allah for that.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
