Rulings of the Ablution

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
From the listener Hasan Kazim Jasim from Iraq, a message containing a collection of questions. In one of them, he says: What are the rulings of the ablution? And are there any supplications reported from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) during the ablution?
Answer: The ablution has obligatory acts and conditions. It is recommended to say the name of Allah at the beginning and the testimony of faith at the end. After he finishes, he says:
I testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah Alone, there are no partners for Him. And I testify that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. O Allah! Make me among the repentant, and make me among those who purify themselves.أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، وأشهد أن محمداً عبده ورسوله، اللهم اجعلني من التوابين واجعلني من المتطهرين
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 55Da'if (Darussalam)
And at the beginning, he says: (In the name of Allah). When he washes his hands to perform the ablution, he washes his palms three times. Before he rinses his mouth, he says the name of Allah at that time. It has ten conditions: Islam, intellect, discernment, the intention to remove the state of ritual impurity, maintaining the ruling of the intention, the cessation of the cause that necessitates the ablution, such as urination and the like, and cleaning oneself with water or stones before it, either cleaning with water or with stones and the like, such as tissues, paper, and the like, the purity of the water, that the water is pure... that it is permissible, and removing what prevents the washing of the skin, removing the thing that prevents the water from reaching the skin, such as dough, gum, or anything else that prevents the water from reaching the skin. And there is an eleventh condition for the one whose state of ritual impurity is continuous: that he does not perform the ablution except after the time for prayer has entered.
And this is what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded the woman with irregular bleeding to do, and the ruling for the one with incontinence is the same as hers. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to the woman with irregular bleeding:
and my ablution for the time of every prayerوتوضئي لوقت كل صلاة
, so all those whose state of ritual impurity is continuous are included with her, such as the one with continuous incontinence of urine, or continuous passing of wind. This is like the one with continuous blood, the woman with irregular bleeding. He performs the ablution when the time for prayer enters. Some of the scholars of knowledge disputed the permissibility of the water, and said: It is permissible to perform the ablution even if the water is not permissible; because the intended purpose is achieved by it, which is the removal of the traces of impurity and the effects of the state of ritual impurity. The prohibition is not specific to the ablution, but specific to the type of water. It must be permissible; it is not permissible for him to drink it, nor to perform the ablution with it, nor to use it unless it is his property.
And the rule is: What is prohibited in a general manner, not specifically for prayer, does not invalidate the prayer. And so is the prayer in a stolen garment and on stolen land; because the prohibition is general and does not specifically concern prayer. It is not permissible for him to use the stolen garment, and it is not permissible for him to sit on the stolen land, even if it is not during prayer.
So if the prohibition is general, it does not harm the prayer, even if it is not permissible for him to do the act. On this basis, if he prays on stolen land, or performs the ablution with stolen water, or prays in a stolen garment, his prayer is valid despite the sin. He commits a sin, but his prayer is valid. And this opinion is the stronger one. This opinion is the stronger one. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good..
The Shaykh: And so is impurity, if he removes it with impure water, with pure water but it is stolen, it is removed, but he commits a sin. If there was impurity on his garment and he washed it with stolen water, pure water but it is stolen, the impurity is removed and the garment becomes pure, despite him committing a sin; because the intended purpose was achieved, the intended purpose of the water was achieved. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good. He asks about the supplications during the ablution?
The Shaykh: Nothing has been reported as mentioned before. It is not prescribed to have supplications in the ablution except the name of Allah at the beginning and the testimony of faith at the end.
The presenter: What about during the ablution?
The Shaykh: Nothing has been reported, no, .. nothing authentic.
The presenter: Nothing authentic has been reported.
The Shaykh: Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you.
