Q 2: Whatis the ruling on dyeing one's beard with the strongest black dye, and does one commit a sin by doing so or not, and what is the difference between shaving it and dyeing it black?
A 2:Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions...After that:Changing gray hair by dyeing the hair of the head and the beard with henna, katam, or the like is permissible, indeed it is recommended, but changing it with black dye is not permissible. Authentic hadiths have been reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding this. Jabir ibn 'Abd AllahJabir ibn 'Abd Allah(may Allah be pleased with them both) said: It was narrated byAhmadand Muslimand Abu
Dawudand al-Nasa'iand Ibn Majah,and in a narrationAhmadThe Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sahih Ibn Hibban 45:12; as an honorfor Abu Bakr,so he embraced Islam, and his beard and head were as white as a thughamah, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Narrated byAhmadand Abu Dawudand al-Nasa'iand al-Tirmidhiand Ibn Majah,and al-Tirmidhi graded it as authentic.al-Tirmidhi.As for the difference between shaving the beard and dyeing its gray hair black: both are prohibited, but shaving the beard is more strictly prohibited than dyeing it black. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

Abu Quhafah was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day of the Conquest, and his head was like a thughamah (very white). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take him to one of his wives and let her change his hair with something, and keep him away from black."
جيء بأبي قحافة يوم الفتح إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وكأن رأسه ثغامة، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: اذهبوا به إلى بعض نسائه فليغيرنه بشيء، وجنبوه السوادDawudand al-Nasa'iand Ibn Majah,and in a narrationAhmadThe Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
If I had left the old man in his house, we would have come to him.
لو أقررت الشيخ في بيته لأتيناهChange them, and keep him away from black.
غيروهما، وجنبوه السوادThe best thing with which to change this gray hair is henna and katam.
إن أحسن ما غيرتم به هذا الشيب: الحناء والكتم
