Q: A young woman in the early stages of her life has very thick eyebrows that are almost unsightly. This girl was forced to shave some of the areas separating the eyebrows and thin the rest so that the appearance would be reasonable for her husband. They wanted to seek the opinion of someone with knowledge of such religious matters, which are confusing for many people. Should this girl continue with what she is doing or not?
A: Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions.. After that: It is not permissible to pluck the eyebrows or thin them; because that is the plucking of the eyebrows (nams) for which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the one who does it or the one who asks for it to be done. So it is obligatory for you to repent
and seek forgiveness for what has passed, and to beware of that in the future. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
