Ruling on Plucking the Eyebrows

A sister of ours from Sudan is also asking and says: What is the ruling on plucking the eyebrows for women?
Answer: Plucking the eyebrows is not permissible. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Therefore, it is not permissible for a believer to allow his wife, sister, or daughter to do so. As for the woman herself, she has no right to disobey the command of Allah and transgress His limits. Rather, it is obligatory for the woman to refrain from what Allah has forbidden, and among that is plucking the eyebrows, for it is one of the major sins. This is because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the one who does it, and the curse implies that it is a major sin among the major sins, whether the plucking is done with tweezers or with any other tool for removing the eyebrow hair.
