Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third and fourth questions of Fatwa number ( 4209 )
Q3: I heard from your eminence that it is recommended to recite Ayat al-Kursi, Surah al-Ikhlas, and the Mu'awwidhat, and that it is also recommended to do so three times. Is it permissible to recite them after leaving the mosque, or in the mosque, or before the Sunnah prayer, or after it?
A3: It is a recommended practice (sunnah) to recite Ayat al-Kursi, Surah al-Ikhlas, and the Mu'awwidhat, and the recitation should be done quietly. This is done after finishing the dhikr following the taslim. The basis for this is what al-Nasa'i narrated and Ibn Hibban authenticated, from Abu Umamah, Iyas ibn Tha'labah al-Harithi al-Ansari al-Khazraji , who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi at the end of every obligatory prayer, nothing but death will prevent him from entering Paradise.من قرأ آية الكرسي دبر كل صلاة مكتوبة لم يمنعه من دخول الجنة إلا الموت
Bulugh al-Maram 2:220
. And what Ahmad and others narrated from Abu Umamah and others: (He recites Ayat al-Kursi quietly after every prayer). It was authenticated in (Al-Mukhtarat), and al-Tabarani added to it:
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
. And Ibn al-Qayyim said: It has chains that indicate it has a basis. And what Abu Dawud al-Tirmidhi al-Nasa'i and others narrated from 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir (may Allah be pleased with him), who said:
‘Uqba b. ‘Amir said that God’s Messenger ordered him to recite al-Mu'awwidhat * after every prayer.أمرني رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أن أقرأ بالمعوذتين دبر كل صلاة
Mishkat al-Masabih 969
. And in a narration of Abu Dawud :
