Q1: A mute man who is not proficient in recitation and does not memorize Surat al-Fatihah or a little of the Qur'an, and as you know, Surat al-Fatihah is obligatory in the prayer, and it is difficult for him to learn it, so what should he do?
A1: It is obligatory for him to pray according to his ability. If he is able to pronounce Surat al-Fatihah, it is obligatory for him to recite it, even from the mushaf or from a written paper.
If he is not able to do so, he should glorify Allah, praise Him, and say Allahu Akbar in place of Surat al-Fatihah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
