What is the ruling on the prayer of one who does not know how to recite al-Fatihah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
My father is an illiterate man who cannot read or write, and he maintains his prayers in the mosques, but he does not recite al-Fatihah well. Will his prayers be accepted?

Answer:
Teach him, let him learn, and if he is unable, his prayer is valid:
So fear Allah as much as you are ableفَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
[al-Taghabun: 16], but he should learn al-Fatihah and strive to learn it, and Allah says:
So fear Allah as much as you are ableفَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
[At-Taghabun 64:16]
, so his children and others should teach him, he should learn and ask his Lord for success until he memorizes al-Fatihah and masters it.
A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and complained to him that he could not do anything of the Qur'an, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him:
Say: SubhanAllah, wal-hamdulilah, wa la illaha ill-Allah, wa Allahu Akbar, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa Billahil-aliy al-azim (Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is none worthy of worship except Allah, Allah is Most Great, and there is no power and no strength except with Allah the Exalted and Magnificent ).قل: سبحان الله، والحمد لله، ولا إله إلا الله، والله أكبر، ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله
Sunan an-Nasa'i 924Hasan (Darussalam)
. This takes the place of al-Fatihah for one who is unable, so one who is unable should recite this tasbih, but he is obligated to learn it; because it is a pillar of the prayer, and it is easy, praise be to Allah, and it is the greatest surah in the Book of Allah , so it is obligatory to learn it, and if it is not possible for him to memorize it, he should recite what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned:
SubhanAllah, wal-hamdulilah, wa la illaha ill-Allah, wa Allahu Akbar, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa Billahسبحان الله، والحمد لله، ولا إله إلا الله، والله أكبر، ولا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله
Sunan an-Nasa'i 924Hasan (Darussalam)
while standing, while reciting, but he must strive to learn al-Fatihah and whatever is easy with it.
