Q4: What is the ruling for one who catches up with the imam for one takbir of the funeral prayer, but misses three takbirs, and what should he do?
A4: He completes the funeral prayer by saying three takbirs as a make-up for what he missed before the funeral is lifted, then he says the taslim. What he caught up with the imam is considered the beginning of the prayer, and the minimum obligatory amount suffices him after the second and third takbir. So after the second, he says: “O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad,” and after the third, he says: “O Allah, forgive him,” and he says the taslim after the fourth.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
