Is pre-seminal fluid compared to semen in invalidating the fast?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : If someone were to ask us, "Do you not hold to analogical reasoning (qiyas)? If so, we would compare pre-seminal fluid to semen. What would we say to him?" We would say, "Yes, we hold to analogical reasoning, and you are with us in holding to analogical reasoning. Please, let us compare them: semen necessitates the full ritual bath (ghusl), whereas pre-seminal fluid does not necessitate the full ritual bath. It is clear that if a person engages in sexual intercourse during Hajj and ejaculates, he owes a camel as a sacrifice, according to the well-known position in the school of Imam Ahmad. However, if he emits pre-seminal fluid, he does not owe the camel. Similarly, if a person repeatedly looks at his wife while fasting and emits pre-seminal fluid, his fast is not invalidated in your view. But if he ejaculates, his fast is invalidated. So, is there a distinction made here or not? That is, those who say that pre-seminal fluid breaks the fast say: if a person repeatedly looks at his wife and emits pre-seminal fluid, his fast is not invalidated, but if he repeatedly looks at his wife and ejaculates, his fast is invalidated. So, is the analogy valid or not? It is not valid, because we ask: how do you make a distinction in this case but not in others? Therefore, comparing pre-seminal fluid to semen is incorrect. Among the well-known scholars of the school of Imam Ahmad, the one who chose the opinion that emitting pre-seminal fluid does not invalidate the fast was Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him). Yes.
