The prayer for a child after his burial

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 6748 )
Q1: I was blessed with two sons, and they passed away at the time of birth while I was not present. They were buried without a funeral prayer being performed for them, knowing that they died one hour after birth. When I returned from my trip a week later, I asked
The people of the house for their names, and they said one was named Muhammad and the other 'Ali. I performed wudu' and went to the grave where they were buried and performed the funeral prayer for them. They are my sons. I ask for your guidance on what you see regarding this, and whether we owe an expiation for burying them without the prayer?

A1: If the situation is as you described, your prayer for them at the grave where they were buried is sufficient, and you owe no expiation. However, you should act in the future according to what Allah has prescribed, which is for the living to attend to the Muslim who has died from the time of his death until his burial is completed. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
