The second question of Fatwa No. ( 6200 )
Q2: Is it permissible to call people to Allah by starting with forbidding what they reject before calling them to the correct creed, given that there are people among us who seek benefit from other than Allah, rub themselves against graves and the awliya (close friends of Allah), and commit religious innovations and superstitions? I ask you to inform me about this, and what is the Sunnah regarding starting the call, according to the practice of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
A2: It is prescribed to call to Allah the Exalted in accordance with what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded Mu'adh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) when he sent him to Yemen . He said:Sunan Abi Dawud 1584Sahih (Al-Albani) ... the hadith.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.

You are going to a people who are people of the book. So call them to bear witness that there is no diety but Allah, and that I am the Messenger of Allah. If they obey you in this respect, tell them that Allah has prescribed five prayers on them every day and night. If they obey you in this regard tell them that Allah has prescribed sadaqah(zakat) on their property and returned it to their poor.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions.
