A girl going out to seek knowledge without her father's permission
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 18859 )
Q2: What is the ruling on my going to the mosque or a dhikr gathering in a Muslim's house for da'wah or to receive knowledge without my father's permission, since if he knew about it, he would prevent me? However, faith wears out just as a garment wears out, and I need to renew my faith because I am in an environment full of evil. Is it permissible for me to go secretly or not?
A2: A woman before her marriage is under the guardianship of her father, so it is not permissible for her to leave the house except with his permission, whether for the mosque or for anything else; because obedience to the father is obligatory in matters other than disobedience to Allah. We advise you to listen to the broadcast of
the Noble Qur'an from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ; because it contains much knowledge and sound guidance, and it has the program "Light on the Path," in which a group of scholars answer the questions of listeners. May Allah guide you to all good and grant you understanding in the religion. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
