The Prayer of Menstruation

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 5502 )
Q: If a woman becomes pure from menstruation or post-natal bleeding before the sun sets, is it obligatory for her to pray the midday and afternoon prayers? And if she becomes pure before the dawn breaks, is it obligatory for her to pray the sunset and night prayers, as we have heard from some opinions on this matter?
A: If a woman becomes pure from menstruation or post-natal bleeding before the necessary time for the prayer has passed, that prayer and any prayer combined with it before it become obligatory upon her. So, if she becomes pure before the sun sets, the afternoon and midday prayers are obligatory upon her. If she becomes pure before the second dawn breaks, the night and sunset prayers are obligatory upon her. And if she becomes pure before the sun rises, the dawn prayer is obligatory upon her. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
